Bikube /.

The Bikube is designed with slopes on all sides to let rain and debris slide off with ease. The Bikube is a nucleus hive, and it is easily wall mounted. The Bikube utilizes an integrated handle for ease of use and transport, and there’s a glass section for humans to look and peek in on what kind of business is going on inside the hive.

Weaver explains: "The Bikube came about as a creative and beautiful solution to the CCD that is wiping out the bees world wide. I love honey, even though I am vegan, and I felt as though something had to be done. We are not only losing commercial bees but we are also losing native pollinators, which is not as well documented.  Bees give such a great service for free and without them we are not going to have such a rich environment or bounty of foods."

In the US, bees are responsible for pollinating up to one-third of the food supply, yet they have been dying off in alarming numbers for almost two decades. Faced with such detrimental foes as parasitic mites, pesticides, and lack of biodiversity, bees are at a formidable disadvantage in our modern world. The need for a urban have that invites the bee to take advantage of the biodiversity, lack of pesticides, saftey.
