Nassarius /

The Nassarius is a sea scavenging sea stead that uses the natural wind and currents to skim the Pacific Garbage Patch. This platform not only collects the plastic but refines the plastic into a bio-fuel. The Nassarius houses a  plankton nusery for replenishing the ocean. The Nassarius houses a full time research team and supporting personnel while supplying areoponics for food and a desalination system for drinkable water with a solar hydro power system.

The Design comes from a hybrid of naval stealth hull technology and trimaran logic. The main hull has a two fixed wing sails, that,  along with the decks are covered in solar cells. Between the three hulls are two massive 30 meter deep intake channels. The large intakes channel the plastic and water through four individual netted intakes. Through a cutting edge technology by Plas2fuel where their process will "crack", the plastic into synthetic crude oil.

We have all innocently contributed to the overwhelming amount of trash in the gyres, which is why we are all equally responsible for having a hand in cleaning it up. Let us not only transform a tragedy, but put the ocean back into a place of importance in our survival. The nassarius is the beginning of the obligated transformation of the global gyres.

The North Pacific Gyre is an immense region of slowly spiraling, warm equatorial air that pulls in winds and converging sea currents. The Gyre’s current system has different names depending on location
